Meet your instructors
Private or small group lessons allow the instructor to gain the greatest level of understanding of the students' wants and needs, really pushing your dance ability to the next level. This lesson style provides the necessary time and space to really focus on key aspects of dance technique or skill that an individual may be struggling with or really want to master.
You don't have to put years into your dance practice to be a skilled social dancer, you just have to put in the hours and the work!
HALEY MORRISON ROGERS
Haley Morrison (almost) Rogers is from Wilmington, NC and obtained her BA in Dance Performance, Choreography, and Theory in May 2016 from UNC Charlotte. Through her studies in various Latin and African dance forms at UNCC, she discovered her calling: partner dance. She became involved in the Charlotte Latin dance scene and traveled across the country to train and perform.
During this amazing journey, she gained the courage and knowledge to branch out and open a dance school of her own, HMR Partner Dance Co. Her dance school specializes in Kizomba, but also offers quality solo and partner dance classes including, but not limited to Salsa, Bachata, and Afro-House.
James Waddell has always been active in his community and began social dancing in 2015. Once he found Kizomba, he became inspired to grow through learning everything he could about the dance.
Since 2016, James has been committed to ongoing weekly classes and events both locally and internationally. He quickly discovered a passion for helping others learn Kizomba. James now teaches Kizomba Thursdays at HMR!
Latin dance actually came as a bit of a surprise to Sean Quigley. He had a Military buddy who was dating a girl that wanted to take Salsa lessons. For some reason, they kept calling him and asking to go until he finally agreed (to make them stop, haha). He found it to be something he very much enjoyed and kept going back more frequently.
Ultimately, he found bachata and something in this dance just calls to his heart. Sean so enjoys the learning and teaching process, though it may be challenging at times, it is such a wonderful way to build a warm and friendly community, find connection, and have fun! He sincerely desires to pass along what he has learned the best way he knows how, so others can feel joy in dance as well.
